God is Good!

I’m sure you’ve heard the saying, “God is good all the time, and all the time, God is good.” For a long time, it was just something I said without truly understanding it. But this past year, those words took on a whole new meaning for me. I’ve wrestled with the question: Is God really good all the time? It’s hard to believe when life is full of pain, suffering, unanswered prayers, doubts, and so many questions. Maybe you’ve felt this way too.

The answer to that question, though, is a resounding YES! But coming to truly know that requires us to open our hearts to God—allowing Him into those places of doubt and despair. When we do, He faithfully reveals who He is.

I’d like to share a personal experience about this. For years, I struggled with deep, dark depression. It came in waves, often out of nowhere, even when everything in my life seemed fine. I’d hide in dark places like my closet or bathroom, crying without even knowing why. The darkness felt overwhelming, and hope seemed out of reach. In those moments, I would pray and cry out to God in the best way I knew how to.

One Sunday morning, everything seemed normal. My kids and I were getting ready for church, and outwardly, nothing was wrong. But out of nowhere, that familiar wave of depression hit me—like a ton of bricks. I sat down on the couch, overwhelmed, and began to weep. My children stood nearby, waiting to leave, and I felt so broken. I cried out to God in that moment of despair, and He met me there.

Through my tears, I called my children over to me. I told them with all my heart, “God is good, all the time. No matter what you go through in life or how dark it may seem, God is always good.” For the first time, I truly believed it. God used my lowest moment to speak truth not just to me, but to my children. Now, when we say, “God is good, all the time,” it’s no longer just a phrase. It’s a truth we live by—a reminder of His faithfulness.

This experience taught me that the simplest truths are often the most profound. Don’t be afraid of your lowest moments. Those are the places where God speaks the loudest and reveals His unchanging goodness. He can even use your struggles to bring hope and truth to others.

You are so loved, my friends. If you’re struggling with doubts or despair, let God into those places. He will meet you there. God really is good, all the time.

God bless you, My Fearless Friends!
